For students newly admitted to our university (excluding students of the English Language Teaching and English Translation and Interpreting Programs), the exemption examinations for the courses YDI-101 (Foreign Language English I) and YDI-102 (Foreign Language English II) for the 2025–2026 Academic Year will be held face-to-face on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.

Students who will take the course for the first time and students who previously took the course but failed may take the exemption examinations. Students who are retaking the course for grade improvement are not eligible to take the exemption examinations. Even if such students take the examinations, their results will be considered INVALID.

• The exemption examination for YDI-101 (Foreign Language English I) and YDI-102 (Foreign Language English II) consists of two sections, each containing 20 multiple-choice questions, making a total of 40 questions. Questions 1–20 belong to the Fall Semester course YDI-101 (Foreign Language English I), while questions 21–40 belong to the Spring Semester course YDI-102 (Foreign Language English II). The examination duration is 50 minutes. Each section will be evaluated separately and independently.
• Each student will take the examination in the building belonging to their own faculty/unit. The classrooms where the examinations will take place will be determined by your units and announced on the relevant official websites. Please follow your unit’s website for information regarding the examination classrooms.
• Participation in the exemption examinations is optional. Attendance is not compulsory. Students who wish to be exempt from these courses may participate in the examinations. Students who wish to take the examinations are required to apply to their respective units.
• Following the completion of the examinations and evaluation process, the list of students considered “exempt” will be communicated to the relevant units.
