A meaningful talk program bringing together the fields of literature, poetry, and translation was held at Bartın University. The event, titled “Literature, Poetry, and Translation: The Language of Poetry and the Journey of Translation”, was organized with strong participation.

The program, held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Education at Bartın University, began with the opening speech delivered by Ersin Çilek, Head of the Department of Arabic Translation and Interpreting. The event was moderated by Haluk Öner.

The speakers of the program were Mehmet Hakkı Suçin, faculty member of the Department of Arabic Language Education at Gazi University, as well as author and translator, and the poet and writer Elçin Sevgi Suçin. The speakers shared valuable insights with participants on the language of poetry, the expressive power of literature, and the intricacies of the translation process.

The event was organized through the collaboration of three student clubs operating within Bartın University: Milat Club (Civilization, Communication, and Language Club), BARÇEV Translation Club, and the Literature Club. In addition to the talk session, poetry readings were also performed, strengthening the literary atmosphere of the program, which attracted great interest from students.

At the end of the program, students had the opportunity to personally meet the guest authors and have their books signed. The event received great appreciation from participants both academically and artistically.
