The Undergraduate Program in Arabic Translation and Interpreting, established within the Faculty of Letters at Bartın University, will admit students for the first time in the 2025–2026 academic year.

The program has been structured to last a total of five years. Before beginning their undergraduate studies, students will have the opportunity to improve their language skills through a one-year Arabic Preparatory Program and begin their academic education with a strong linguistic foundation. Students who successfully complete the preparatory class will continue their education in the four-year undergraduate program.

In addition to providing students with advanced proficiency in the Arabic language, the four-year undergraduate program will offer comprehensive theoretical and practical training in areas such as translation theories, translation strategies, text analysis, translation technologies, and written and oral translation practices. Students will develop decision-making skills related to the translation process and gain contextual, cultural, and academic competence.

The program aims to educate qualified translators who are effective in intercultural communication, capable of analytical thinking, research-oriented, and sensitive to linguistic and cultural issues through an interdisciplinary approach.

Our graduates will possess the knowledge and professional competence required to work in public institutions, foreign missions, media organizations, publishing houses, international organizations, private sector companies, and translation agencies, as well as to pursue careers as freelance translators.
